چکیده

When every element of a random vector   1 2 , , , n X X X X   assumes the cumulative distribution function 0 F and 1 F with probability and p p  1 , respectively, we have shown that the probability that the first order statistic of 0  X is originally under 0 F can be expressed as . We have also shown that        0 1 0 1 1 d np p F x pF x F x           1 n  0   0 lim 1 n p p p       , where     1 0 lim x x F x F x    and   0 1 max , x x x  with   , i x  the support of  i  F x . Applications and implications of the results are discussed in the performance of wideband spectrum sensing schemes.

Tracking Interval for Doubly Censored Data with Application of Plasma Droplet Spread Samples

Doubly censoring scheme, which includes left as well as right censored observations, is frequently observed in practical studies. In this paper we introduce a new interval say tracking interval for comparing the two rival models when the data are doubly censored. We obtain the asymptotic properties of maximum likelihood estimator under doubly censored data and drive a statistic for testing the ...

Testing a Point Null Hypothesis against One-Sided for Non Regular and Exponential Families: The Reconcilability Condition to P-values and Posterior Probability

In this paper, the reconcilability between the P-value and the posterior probability in testing a point null hypothesis against the one-sided hypothesis is considered. Two essential families, non regular and exponential family of distributions, are studied. It was shown in a non regular family of distributions; in some cases, it is possible to find a prior distribution function under which P-va...

The Power of Bootstrap and Asymptotic Tests

We introduce the concept of the bootstrap discrepancy, which measures the difference in rejection probabilities between a bootstrap test based on a given test statistic and that of a (usually infeasible) test based on the true distribution of the statistic. We show that the bootstrap discrepancy is of the same order of magnitude under the null hypothesis and under non-null processes described b...

Empirical phi-divergence test statistics for testing simple and composite null hypotheses

The main purpose of this paper is to introduce first a new family of empirical test statistics for testing a simple null hypothesis when the vector of parameters of interest are defined through a specific set of unbiased estimating functions. This family of test statistics is based on a distance between two probability vectors, with the first probability vector obtained by maximizing the empiri...

Comparison between Frequentist Test and Bayesian Test to Variance Normal in the Presence of Nuisance Parameter: One-sided and Two-sided Hypothesis

This article is concerned with the comparison P-value and Bayesian measure for the variance of Normal distribution with mean as nuisance paramete. Firstly, the P-value of null hypothesis is compared with the posterior probability when we used a fixed prior distribution and the sample size increases. In second stage the P-value is compared with the lower bound of posterior probability when the ...
